"the refugee "
refugee,
trying to refrain,
from falling victim,
to society's shame.
refugee,
struggles to be free,
from the bias and the burden of poverty.
road weary,
from sleepless nights,
of fleeing the cities plight.
society's debris,
swept from sight,
in the hope that god will not see,
how we treat our brothers,
in their time of need.
refugee, weeps.
and his family huddles scared, alone, continuing their climb,
from the depths of futility.
a never ending effort,
to reach the sun.
while forever fleeing from society's war.
such a needless atrocity.
